In Business Line Applications, we create software products that run in most modern semiconductor factories in the world. Our department D&E PWC develops, integrates, and qualifies functional modules in products used to monitor and control on-product performance under high-volume manufacturing conditions. In our group on-product performance Technology Enablers, we believe that deep understanding of on-product performance and its contributors enables the development of the technology roadmap.
This investigation is needed for future improvements of on-product overlay control. Specifications are getting tighter and run2run control lacks in performance in the most critical cases, where customer have to resort to costly rework solutions. Several investigations on improving APC or temporal control are ongoing. One direction is using a clever way to distill the most information from the available data as possible (for example using Bayesian Inference).
Challenges: creating an in depth understanding of temporal behavior, driving for results working with non-ideal data sets.
Key deliverables include:
Collecting the right data sets;
Familiarizing yourself with the inhouse toolboxes,;
Doing literature research (in-house and external);
Writing a test plan;
Creating dedicated tooling;
Perform data analysis;
Writing report with clear description of temporal control behavior.
