Job Summary:

Ascension Technologies, one of the nation’s largest healthcare IT services organizations, supports data-driven transformation across the continuum of care. Within the Cloud Data Operations team, the Business Enablement Engineer plays a vital role in enabling efficient data management and governance. This individual will serve as a key operational liaison, ensuring cloud tools and processes align with business and security requirements.

 

The role supports cross-functional operations by managing access governance, product support, version control workflows, and release lifecycle processes. This engineer will also contribute to file and data management across cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Cloud Engineering & Operations Responsibilities

Provide Identity and Access Management (IAM) guidance by aligning GCP roles with defined documentation.Act as a Product Subject Matter Expert (SME), developing user support documentation, troubleshooting guidance, and promoting operational best practices.Assist development teams with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) to improve delivery pipelines and development efficiency.Execute and support data movement tasks such as file copies and data loads within cloud storage environments.

 

Release & Change Management Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate Change Request lifecycle in ServiceNow from creation through post-verification closure.Develop and manage deployment documentation; maintain structured records in shared repositories.Collaborate with developers, analysts, product managers, and change approvers across various platforms (Jira, Google Chat, GCP Calendar).Facilitate and attend Technical Review and CAB meetings, ensuring all approvals and dependencies are resolved in advance of deployment deadlines.Manage communications for release activities — including pre-release notices and post-deployment summaries — to relevant Mass Communications and Infrastructure stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

Required to have working knowledge and background in GCPStrong attention to detail and organizational skills in managing change control processes.Effective communicator, able to translate technical concepts for both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.Self-driven, with a passion for operational excellence and user enablement in cloud data environments.Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environments.Proficient with GCP-native tools and concepts, including IAM, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.Exposure to infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.Experience supporting compliance and audit documentation for cloud operations.Working knowledge of cloud security and identity access best practices, particularly in regulated environments.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible.Experience with cloud logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Cloud Logging).Understanding of cloud cost management and resource optimization principles.Comfortable working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.Skilled in troubleshooting deployment issues related to permissions, configuration, or data inconsistencies.Experience developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and runbooks.Proficient in documentation platforms such as Confluence, Google Workspace, or SharePoint.Demonstrated ability to ensure audit readiness and maintain compliance documentation.Familiarity with Agile or Scrum frameworks, including backlog grooming and sprint planning.Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (security, infrastructure, product, etc.).Strong time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple initiatives effectively.Understanding of PHI/PII data handling, encryption, and data residency requirements.Experience supporting enterprise systems with strict uptime, security, and change control expectations.




Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
