**Job Summary and Qualifications**
As the Data Specialist, you will play a critical role with the development and support of HCA Healthcare’s enterprise-wide Privacy Program, as well as the Company’s compliance, governance, and strategy relative to the protection of patient’s information. You will interact extensively with leadership and business owners across the enterprise and provides support on all privacy related matters. You will be responsible for analyzing and managing the reportable issues data for operational and strategic decision-making.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Assists in managing the strategic planning process including key enterprise initiatives to develop a clear vision of the department’s objectives and to address all regulatory requirements related to privacy.
+ Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in the privacy program and initiatives.
+ Develop Dashboards, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders.
+ Identifies, minimizes and mitigates legal and regulatory privacy and compliance risks.
+ Assists in the review and analysis of proposed and final regulatory reform at the federal and state(s) levels (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA, CPRA, Data Protection Laws, 21st Century Cures Act, Information Blocking).
+ Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with organization goals.
+ Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet guidelines.
+ Assists in the development and executes the company privacy risk assessment strategy to review business processes and evaluate privacy controls necessary to protect sensitive information.
+ Assists in managing the strategic planning process including key enterprise initiatives to develop a clear vision of the department’s objectives and to address all regulatory requirements related to privacy.
+ Assists in the development and executes the company privacy risk assessment strategy to review business processes and evaluate privacy controls necessary to protect sensitive information.
+ Directs third party vendor compliance reviews and due diligence efforts relative to external data release to minimize and mitigate risks to the organization.
+ Assists in managing the strategic planning process including key enterprise initiatives to develop a clear vision of the department’s objectives and to address all regulatory requirements related to privacy.
+ Leads inquiries from external regulatory agencies (e.g., Office of Civil Rights) relative to compliance-related investigations based on the government’s provision of technical assistance
+ Acts as a privacy subject matter expert relative to the application of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HITECH Act, and company policies and procedures.
+ Develops strategic working relationships across all lines of business and project partners as necessary to identify, evaluate, and reduce privacy risks.
**Job Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree and 7 years experience is required
+ 14+ years of proven experience in privacy (e.g., HIPPA, HITECH) or other similar federal healthcare legislation in lieu of degree is required
+ CHP, RHIA, RHIT, HCISPP is preferred
+ This job may require up to 25% travel
