This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
We are looking for a Data Modeling Specialist with strong expertise in designing and implementing data models for enterprise data platforms. This role involves translating business concepts into logical and physical data structures, ensuring scalability and alignment with modern data architecture principles.
Data Modeling & Architecture
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses, analytics platforms, and data lakehouses.
• Translate business requirements into logical models and physical structures in databases, data warehouses, and lakehouses.
• Develop and maintain ERDs, data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and data lineage documentation.
Data Warehousing & Engineering
• Apply best practices in data warehouse design, including star schema and snowflake schema.
• Implement DataMesh architecture principles for creating data products.
• Ensure compliance with Data Pattern 5.0 and other modeling standards.
Collaboration & Governance
• Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure models meet business needs.
• Establish and enforce data modeling standards and governance practices.
Technical Expertise:
• Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with ERDs, data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and data lineage tools.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and design patterns (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Familiarity with DataMesh architecture and Data Pattern 5.0.
Analytical & Communication Skills:
• Ability to translate complex business concepts into scalable data models.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Tools Knowledge:
• Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar).
• Knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud-based data architectures.
