Chubb launched its third Engineering Center in Thessaloniki in 2022. Our rapidly expanding new Chubb Engineering Center in Greece (CECG) is integrated with the Engineering Centers in India and Mexico to support our global technology needs and digital business transformation, as well as the company's operations in the Europe - Middle East - Africa region operating in 27 countries.

The Data Modeller/Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level data models and solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems. This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional and modern data modelling approaches, including application-centric data models, where data structures are tightly coupled to individual applications and business processes.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities


•    Data Modelling: Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, with a focus on application-centric environments where each system may have its own distinct data schema.
•    Development: Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and database solutions tailored to application-specific requirements.
•    Integration Awareness: Collaborate with application developers and integration teams to ensure data models support interoperability across systems.
•    Governance & Standards: Define and enforce modelling standards that balance application-specific needs with enterprise-wide consistency.
•    Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data models, including lineage and dependencies across applications.
•    Performance Tuning: Optimize application-bound databases for performance and scalability.
•    Modernization Support: Contribute to initiatives that transition from application-centric to more data-centric or federated architectures.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Practical experience using GenAI (Claude/CoPilot/Gemini) with a good understanding of subagents, MCP and controls; used to support the design, development, testing.5+ years of experience in data modelling and developmentStrong proficiency in SQL and modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, dbt, PowerDesigner)Experience with relational and NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with application-centric architectures and their impact on data designExposure to cloud platforms and modern data stack technologies.

 

Desirable:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills, written and verbal.Strong presentation skills.Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.Change Management experience is a plus.Systems and business architecture knowledge is a plus.Ability to take minimal direction and work independently with high precision/quality of output.Degree qualified in business management or a related discipline and qualification in technology.Experience working with teams across multiple countries.
