Data Manager, North America Manufacturing Analytics and Transformation (A&T)
This is an exempt level position.
Preferred Location: North American Headquarters in Decatur, IL

Position Summary:
As a Data Manager supporting the North America Manufacturing Analytics and Transformation (A&T) team, you will lead efforts to capture, store, contextualize, and access shop floor data, and the integration with other company data to produce data sets that will be used to make decisions at all levels of the company.  Your team will be responsible for managing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing governance frameworks that enable high-impact analytics and transformation initiatives.

You will collaborate closely with analytics leaders, plant operations, IT, and global technology teams to align data infrastructure with business needs. Your work will empower analytics teams to deliver insights faster and more reliably, while also enabling decentralized data usage through well-managed platforms and self-service capabilities.

This role requires a strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and integration strategies, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You will play a key role in fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring that manufacturing data is a trusted asset across the organization.

About the Data Team
This team of Data Engineers maintain ADM’s enterprise data historian.  The team is building and will maintain edge devices that pull any type of data from any device as well as data pipelines that securely move that data to the cloud, and will work with others to implement the cloud infrastructure to enable data analytics at scale.

Job Responsibilities:Lead the development of ADM’s strategy to provide data sets that can be leveraged across manufacturingOversee data architecture, integration, and governance across manufacturing systemsEnsure high data quality, consistency, and availability for analytics and reporting on plant site and in the cloud.Collaborate with analytics teams to optimize data pipelines and support advanced analytics use casesDevelop and maintain metadata management and data cataloging practicesSupport the implementation of self-service data tools and platformsProvide training and guidance to operational teams on data best practicesMonitor data usage and compliance with internal and external standardsStay current with emerging data technologies and trends to inform strategySome travel and on-call work is expected as part of this positionRequired Skills:Experience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating environmentsProficiency with data platforms and toolsAwareness of data visualization and automation best practicesFamiliarity with cloud-based data architectures (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Databricks)Strong interpersonal collaboration skills and ability to work across technology and business domainsExcellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and effectively engage with senior leadership and frontline teamsStrong technical and problem-solving skillsPreferred Skills:Experience with data cataloging toolsKnowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and industrial data sourcesFamiliarity with analytics platforms such as Power BI, JMP, or AspenTechExperience with SQL, Python, or other data manipulation languagesExperience with cloud platforms such as Databricks and Azure Data FactoryExperience with industrial edge architectures, including tools such as Docker containers, InfluxDB, Grafana, NodeRed, MQTT, and PrometheusAwareness of Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologiesRequired Qualifications:Minimum of a Bachelor's degreeMinimum of 5 years of experience in data management or engineeringAbility to travel or work on-call as neededPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a similar leadership role.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
