Position Summary

We are looking for world class server software engineers with Big Data Engineering and Data Analysis experience to join our technology innovation group focused on the rapid development of cloud based end-to-end mobile applications and services. This is an exciting area for Samsung: Cloud based service platforms and infrastructure to support mobility.

Role and Responsibilities

Implement, maintain and evolve cloud-based products and servicesResponsible for designing, implementing and maintaining ETL processes for Analytics and Business Intelligence SystemsPerform extensive research and analysis to make optimal architecture and design decisionsAnalyze data warehouses and suggest optimizations to SQL Queries used for Business Intelligence reportingModify structured and unstructured data to provide meaningful reports to businessWrite large amounts of code, perform code reviews, write unit testsWrite documentationInterface with other groups including Product Management, QA and OperationsCreate quick proof-of-concept prototypesParticipate in an agile team

Skills and Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experienceWorking experience in software development using Java, Scala, or Python is a mustExtensive experience in implementing scalable and reliable ETL pipelines on Cloud Platforms using Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, AWS GlueExperience transforming data in various formats (JSON, CSV, PARQUET, YAML, Avro, Orc)Experience managing and scheduling workflows (Apache Airflow experience is preferred)Experience with working on Cloud Data Warehouses such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Data Lakes/Delta LakesExperience with stream processing technology like Kafka, and Spark StreamingAbility to analyze and simplify complex code and algorithms in Java, Scala or PythonAbility to adapt and learn different technologies that best solves the problem regardless of whether it is written in Python, Java, Scala, etc.Ability to perform ad-hoc complex SQL queries and query optimizationTeam player with strong communication skillsDesire to learn fast and pick up latest technologies and toolsExperience with data visualization software (Tableau preferred) is a plusExperience with Kubernetes and Machine Learning is a plus
