This role demands a leader capable of fostering collaboration and driving engineering excellence within the data foundation ecosystem. **Key Responsibilities** + Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of a talented and collaborative engineering team. + Develop, lead, and empower an efficient, effective, and agile engineering team to deliver exceptional capabilities and services across the entire data foundation ecosystem. + Foster effective teamwork and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional business teams, digital functions, and third-party technology partners. + Drive engineering excellence by establishing best practices for engineering standards and processes, as well as by implementing innovative solutions to improve development efficiency and quality. + Oversee the implementation and enforcement of data governance policies and best practices within their area of responsibility, ensuring data quality, accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. + Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for data engineering initiatives within their scope, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. + Drive innovation and the adoption of new data technologies and best practices within the data engineering team, staying updated with industry trends and advancements. + Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team, acting as a point of escalation for complex technical challenges and unblocking developers to maintain project momentum. + Embed the organization's core values and code of conduct within the team, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. + Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in engineering roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity. + Demonstrated experience (typically 5+ years) in leading, mentoring, or technically guiding other engineers or team members. + Proven track record of successfully designing, building, and deploying complex data platforms and data products, with deep knowledge of big data ecosystem and full-stack programming. + Experience with project management methodologies, preferably Agile, and the ability to manage projects from conception to deployment. + Solid understanding of data governance principles, data security best practices, and data quality management. + Strong business and data acumen, preferably with 5+ years of experience working in the multinational pharmaceutical industry, possessing a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical commercial business process and model. + Customer-centric and product-oriented mindset, with a deep understanding of the methodology for implementing data as a product and a passion for driving data democratization. + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Experience in leverage AI or GenAI for innovative engineering practices is preferred. **Pursue progress, discover extraordinary** Better is out there.
