Data Engineer Senior
**General Summary** Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational needs across the System. Responsibilities include developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, data cleansing and transformation processes, and contributing to initiatives such as the enterprise data lake. This role requires strong expertise in data engineering, cloud platforms, and database management, along with a proven track record of delivering complex data projects, ideally in a healthcare setting. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accessible, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. **Duties and Responsibilities** **Essential Functions:** + Designs and implements scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions to support enterprise-wide analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. + Data Integration and Processing: Builds reliable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of healthcare data from sources such as EHRs, clinical systems, research databases, and external feeds. Uses a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) to deliver structured, curated, and trusted datasets. + ETL/ELT Development: Develops and optimizes ETL/ELT workflows using cloud-native tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Fabric. Translates business requirements into efficient transformation logic that ensures data quality, consistency, and integrity. + Cloud Infrastructure and Technologies: Deploys scalable data solutions on platforms such as Azure and Databricks. Supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and visualization through resilient infrastructure. + Curated and AI-Ready Data Enablement: Prepares clean, well-labeled, and accessible datasets to support analytics, agentic AI, and machine learning use cases. Ensures data is curated and standardized to accelerate model development and deployment. + Data Visualization and Insights Delivery: Enables self-service analytics and enterprise reporting by integrating curated datasets with tools like Power BI. Collaborates with analysts and business users to ensure data models support intuitive and actionable visualizations. + Data Governance and Security: Enforces governance and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) using Unity Catalog for data discovery, access control, and lineage. Implement encryption, auditing, and role-based access to protect sensitive healthcare data. + Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitors and tunes pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and storage systems for reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Troubleshoots and proactively improves performance. + Collaboration and Leadership: Partners with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver aligned data solutions. Mentors junior engineers and promotes a culture of learning and innovation. + Continuous Improvement: Stays current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, cloud platforms, and tools like Microsoft Fabric.
