Process Overview*

Data, Analytics & Insights Technology (DAIT) provides customer, client, and operational data in support of Consumer, Business, Wealth and Payments Technology with responsibility for a number of key data technologies. These include 16 Authorized Data Sources (ADS), marketing and insights platforms, advanced analytics Platforms, core client data and more. DAIT drives these capabilities with the goal of maximizing data assets to serve bank operations, meet regulatory requirements and personalize interactions with our customers across all channels.

GBDART, a sub-function of DAIT, is the Bank’s strategic initiative to modernize data architecture and enable cloud-based, connected data experiences for analytics and insights across commercial banking. It delivers real-time operational integration, a comprehensive data management and regulatory framework, and technology solutions supporting key programs such as 14Q, CECL/CCAR/IFRS9, Flood, Climate Risk, and more. GBDART provides vision and oversight for data digitization, quality excellence using AI/ML/NLP, and process simplification, ensuring a single version of truth for enterprise risk and controls through Authorized Data Sources across all major lines of business.

Job Description*

This role provides exploration, technical direction, and delivery with a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities include contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data pipelines, aligning technical solutions with business objectives, and ensuring coding practices and quality comply with software development standards. The position requires managing multiple data engineering projects and demonstrating expertise across several technical competencies.

The AI Data Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment to build and optimize data pipelines, enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of the Enterprise Credit (Commercial) Regulatory Management Team, with an initial focus on Centers of Excellence (COE). The role involves onboarding various regulatory programs onto modern data platforms, delivering end-to-end solutions that automate data ingestion, streamline workflows, and improve data transparency and reporting.

A key responsibility is to develop a self-serve approach, enabling Enterprise Credit business admin users to create and configure new data pipelines, deploy them to the lab environment for testing, and seamlessly move them to production. This requires designing and implementing dynamic data processing capabilities for business users. The Data Engineer will create strategic plans for performance-optimized solutions and ensure timely delivery.

The AI Data Engineer will own the design, development, delivery, and support of all data pipelines within an Agile Scrum team, partnering with DevOps/CTO for environment readiness, QA, and deployments.

Responsibilities:

5+ years of overall and 3+ years of hands-on relevant experience in data engineering with a focus on AI/ML-driven solutionsStrong hands-on development experience in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Pandas)Familiarity with ML Data LifecycleExperience in enterprise-level data architecture and solution-based developmentArchitectural design and design thinking skills (desirable)Should have exposure to containerization technologies like openshiftExperience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect)Proficiency in building and deploying machine learning modelsStakeholder management, primarily with US-based leadership and teams

Requirements:

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / M.C.A

Certifications (preferred): Python with SQL

Experience: 5+ Years

Foundational Skills:

In-depth knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Proficient in Windows and Linux systemsKnowledge of database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or any RDBMS)Systems engineering and deployment experienceStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to minimize risk and negative impactAbility to work independently with minimal oversightMotivated and eager to learnBroad knowledge of information security principles, including identity, access, and authorizationStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
