Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in support of analytics and audience engagement initiativesContribute to the development and optimization of data models and warehouse structures for reporting and analysisWork with tools and technologies including Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Spark, and AirflowCollaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Product Managers, and Analysts to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutionsParticipate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure quality and maintainability of data solutionsMonitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure performance and reliabilitySupport data governance and data quality initiatives through documentation and validation

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role working with large-scale data systemsProficient in SQL for data extraction and transformationExperience with one or more distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hive, Presto)Solid programming skills in Python, Scala, or JavaFamiliarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)Exposure to data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or similarUnderstanding of basic data modeling principles and warehouse designStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in Agile teams and adapting to changing priorities

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $104,600.00 - $140,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
