Please note this position is based in our Phoenix, AZ Support Office. The Data Engineer II will work on all phases of the software development lifecycle supporting a variety of projects and applications. This role will be a mid-level position, with an expectation of continuing to build technical skills with increasingly more complexity and responsibility on projects. Candidates for this position will have prior experience delivering efficient, secure, high performance, and easy-to-support solutions primarily within the Microsoft suite of technologies.
Overview of Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Analyze, fix, and test production support tickets for a variety of systemsBuild ETL which loads complex data warehouse objects including dimensions, hierarchies, fact tables, and aggregatesProvide clear and concise explanation and interpretation of the business needs to reach agreement and ensure understanding of needsWork with a cross functional team to understand the business issues or identify opportunities and gather Design and system requirementsBuild and deploy customer facing Bl solutions (Analysis cubes, Power BI) and build the reporting metadata layerDevelop and support data marts and cubes to support functional area data consumersSupport and create data pipelines Gather, analyze, and document user reporting and/or data feed requirementsProvide escalated support for junior team membersPerform any other assigned tasks deemed necessary by management
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Azure technologies including Power BI1+ years of experience with Azure Data Lake and InformaticaStrong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and ability to work on cross-functional teamsSolid understanding and usage of source control solutionsChange and release management skillsRequirements gathering and documentation skillsTechnical Skills:
