Job description - Data engineer/Devops This is an overarching project that deals with claims data. Half of the work is storing data for all products and models, and the other half is getting the data. We are looking for a data engineer to move data around in the claims domain to avoid fraud, build claims, and determine if the claim is a total loss. The data is being moved mainly to and from the data warehouse, ingesting millions of records from Kijiji every day. Our client is looking for someone with data engineering experience with strong software engineering experience , analysis, and technical leadership backgrounds for our teams. Here’s a sneak peek. On a day-to-day basis, we primarily use cloud Databricks, Amazon Web Services, and Snowflake. Python is our favorite language! We are responsible for ingesting data from many different sources, but also for the sometimes complex transformation of this data, to provide our scientists with quality data that is ready for machine learning. In this mission, you will be supported by quality analysts, business analysts, application architects, and data architects. We use Agile as our organizational methodology, with the support of our product owners and our scrum masters. What you'll do here: • With your team, you will participate in the analysis design, development, and delivery of efficient, effective, and secure data pipelines. • Building on your experience, you will have the opportunity to participate in the implementation of industry best practices. • Through your leadership, you will be an agent of change who will grow our data engineering practice to make our lab an industry benchmark. The ideal candidate has… - 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering / Data Engineering / ETL development / Data Warehousing. - Experience in Big Data and Cloud technologies for processing large volumes of data. - Understanding of data management, security, and data classification. - Strong proficiency in the Python programming language and the PySpark Framework. - Databricks experience - set up job clusters, related to the jobs and the workflows, configurations. - Previous experience as a DevOps working with AWS, Terraform, GitHub, + Kubernetes Additional Skills & Qualifications - Bilingual - French + English - Strong communication + stakeholder management Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
