Basic Purpose

Provide onsite technical support for Navy Federal’s data center and equipment to ensure continuous availability. Perform troubleshooting, escalations, and resolve incidents and problems when detected. Interface with various support teams and vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during system outages or periods of reduced performance. Able to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.


Responsibilities

Network installation & maintenance (rack & stack, cabling, parts replacement, etc.) - Basic/RoutineServer installation & maintenance (rack & stack, HDD, memory, CPU, RAID batteries, NICs, etc.) - Basic/RoutineData Center staging, deployment, and logistics/asset management support - Basic/RoutineSite builds & refreshes, while meeting current quality standards- Basic/RoutineData Center hardware break/fix/move/add/change; component replacement, hardware troubleshooting- Basic/RoutineExtensive enterprise cable installation experience as well as industry cabling standards- Basic/RoutineAbility to provide adequate fiber and copper cable testing with minimal supervision- Basic/RoutineAbility to terminate Cat 6 cabling- Basic/RoutineCreate/update/maintain rack elevations within a DCIM application (Nlyte) -Participates inMaintain inventory control and documentation on systems and components to ensure updates occur according to schedule and procedure -Participates inTroubleshoot and escalate incidents and problems- Basic/RoutineInterface with other ISD areas and/or vendors to resolve outages or periods of reduced performance, in accordance with established criteria- Basic/Routine Provide status reports on active or resolved issues -Participates inMaintain, configure, and perform preventative maintenance to various network and data center equipment to ensure efficient operations- Basic/RoutineExperience with out-of-band management/KVM system (DSVIEW) - Basic/RoutineExperience with power distribution units (PDUs), load management - Basic/RoutineFamiliar with NEMA and IEC power connectors- Basic/RoutineFamiliar with Data Center containment solutions- Basic/RoutineWork with others to update and document procedures -Participates inWrite, and maintain, detailed site reference documentation -Participates inCognizant of Data Center Safety Standards - Basic/RoutineLift equipment weighing 50 lbs. - Basic/RoutinePerform other tasks or duties as assigned or based on need- Basic/Routine
