Job Description:

   

This role will be performed onsite at the datacenter in Quebec City, Quebec.

There will be a weekend/off-hours on-call rotation for this role

Primary Responsibilities

Part of a regional on-site team to build and support a multi-tenant cloud-based Supercomputing-as-a-Service business.Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs system startups/shutdowns, following established guides and procedures.Onsite technician maintaining and supporting all aspects of the supercomputer system.Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, triaging and then escalating system issues that may occur.Involved in system upkeep and upgrades, including hardware maintenance, warranty service, replacements and expansions.Perform hardware break/fix hardware swap and coordinate factory warranty services.Follows all security protocols as defined by the security architect.Works closely with Site Reliability Engineers to ensure systems are operational at all times.

Experience and Skills

Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.Flexible and comfortable working on a varying and broad set of issues that may arise from day to day.Proficient in the use and operation of Linux based environments including shells, system configuration and administrative skills.Prior experience with large scale clustered systems (preferably HPC experience with parallel compute systems)Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).An understanding of high-speed networksAn understanding of the security concerns in a cloud environmentExperience with common datacenter hardware including CPUs, GPUs, management, and network equipment.Good communication skills.Hands on experience with the tools and infrastructure to support HPC systems at scale including networking and storage.An understanding of high-performance computing2+ years of hands-on experience working on or supporting enterprise grade server infrastructures.BS in Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent

Ce poste sera execute sur place, au centre de données de Québec, au Québec.

Une rotation de fin de semaine et de jours fériés sera prévue pour ce poste.

Principales responsabilités

Faire partie d'une équipe régionale sur place afin de bâtir et de soutenir une activité de supercalcul en tant que service (Supercomputing as a Service) multi-locataire basée sur le cloud.Préparer, organiser, configurer et exécuter les démarrages et arrêts du système, conformément aux guides et procédures établis.Technicien sur place assurant la maintenance et le soutien de tous les aspects du supercalculateur.Effectuer des diagnostics et des dépannages, trier et signaler les problèmes système éventuels.Participer à la maintenance et aux mises à niveau du système, y compris la maintenance matérielle, les services sous garantie, les remplacements et les extensions.Réparer et échanger le matériel et coordonner les services sous garantie d'usine.Suivre tous les protocoles de sécurité définis par l'architecte de sécurité.Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les ingénieurs en fiabilité du site pour garantir le fonctionnement permanent des systèmes.

Expérience et compétences

Expérience dans le soutien d'équipements informatiques ou de technologies connexes. Flexibilité et aisance à travailler sur un large éventail de problématiques pouvant survenir au quotidien.Maîtrise de l'utilisation et de l'exploitation des environnements Linux, notamment des shells, de la configuration système et des compétences administratives.Expérience préalable avec les systèmes en cluster à grande échelle (de préférence, expérience HPC avec des systèmes de calcul parallèles).Certifications applicables : CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).Compréhension des réseaux haut débitCompréhension des enjeux de sécurité dans un environnement cloudExpérience avec le matériel courant des centres de données, notamment les processeurs, les GPU, les équipements de gestion et de réseau.Bonnes compétences en communication.Expérience pratique des outils et de l'infrastructure nécessaires à la prise en charge des systèmes HPC à grande échelle, notamment les réseaux et le stockage.Compréhension du calcul haute performanceAu moins deux ans d'expérience pratique sur ou dans la prise en charge d'infrastructures de serveurs de niveau entreprise.Licence en informatique, en gestion des systèmes d'information ou équivalent.
