Senior Scheduler I
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I to join our Data Center Structured Cabling Group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activitiesEnsure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities complyProvide oversight and supervision of scheduling team Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendentsEstablish and nurture teamwork environmentEnsure crews have resources and supportProvide work direction and performance evaluationsIdentify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunitiesImplement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project siteManage open shop and union issuesMaintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvementOther duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent fieldMinimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experienceExperience as a project engineer is desirableExcellent oral and written communication skillsActive listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedbackAbility to travel may be required based on operating groupThorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company softwareThorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencingAbility to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projectsStrong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skillsBasic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyoutWorking knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologiesStrong organization and team skillsBasic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedulesBasic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniquesAbility to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutionsResults-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
