Data Center Structured Cabling-Assistant Project Manager

SUMMARY:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager in our Data Center Structured Cabling team to partner with the project manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance. You will also lead, coach, and mentor project team members. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role.

Traveling PM Role-100% on a rotation

Locations: MN, LA, NM, WY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus, and strong communication are critical in performing duties which may include:

Perform cost control and financial management

Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and scheduleCoordinate scopes of workReview and compile pay applications, change requests, and another project financial documentation

Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive 

Draft client proposalsContract administration and managementAward subcontracts

Provide direction to the project team for safe and timely project completion

Act as liaison for project engineers, mentor, and coach othersProvide job assignments and lead career developmentDirect responsibilities and guide Field Engineer(s) and Project Engineer(s)

Lead subcontractors and suppliers for the project

Supervise budget and make recommendations for subcontractors and trade partnersLead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partnersFacilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors related to project coordination

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:

Perform on-site Project Manager duties on small-scope projectsImplement a quality plan that ensures the customer’s specified performance criteria in design and construction

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experienceMinimum six years of related previous experienceDemonstrated ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projectsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and lead multiple project tasksPossess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelDemonstrated positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesCurrent driver’s license

The base compensation range for this role is: $99,500 - $134,300 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations:  Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%)  This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus.]   

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skill and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
