Job Description:

   

Job Family Definition:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

What You Will Do

Test IP networking-related software products to ensure they operate as defined by requirementsBuild network configurations to model well-optimized network reference designsPlan, develop, and execute automated and manual test plansProvide constructive feedback, report issues, and interact with developers to deliver superior product qualityReview requirements from the Product Management teamUtilize network troubleshooting tools (packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, customer input) to resolve issues effectively

What You Need to Bring

MS/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExpert knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies through validation or deployment of networking productsHands-on experience with at least one popular Networking OS: JunOS, NXOS, IOS, EOS, or SONiCSolid understanding of clos-based Data Center network architectures (3-stage and 5-stage)Familiarity with Data Center protocols such as VXLAN and MP-BGPProficiency in Python programmingStrong grasp of Linux-based systems and network troubleshooting toolsA quality-focused mindset with a keen eye for identifying product and interaction limitationsMinimum 5+ years of relevant experience
