Data Center NOC Technician
As part of Oracle's Global Network Engineering organization, you will be responsible for the delivery of Cloud Services to Oracle's businesses worldwide, these services include the management and delivery of network infrastructure. You will be a member of the Global Network Operations Center Team, which acts as a front-line for physical network issues supporting 24x7x365 worldwide. GNOC is responsible for handling incidents and performing break fix changes of network devices to maintain and optimize operations for the physical network infrastructure. This role will focus on development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment. The circuits team is focused on keeping the network circuits up and running, specific to aligning with ISP's. This team is growing rapidly based on customer growth leading to network growth. In this role, you will: • Participate in Network lifecycle management through network build and/or upgrade projects. • Using existing procedures and tooling, develop and safely complete network changes. • Attend and chip in to the related projects and sprint planning. • Develop and improve runbooks and methods of procedures. • Provide break-fix support for events. • Triage event tickets and remediate or call out as needed. • Support root causes analysis as required. Leverage existing tooling and automation to complete critical tasks, such as device upgrades. • Identifying actionable incidents using a monitoring system, strong analytical problem-solving skills to mitigate network events/incidents and follow up on routine RCA, coordinating with support teams and vendors (TAC) • Executing network changes following the defined Oracle change management process that includes break-fix changes, upgrades, and decommissioning of the network devices • Working with multiple support teams during incident calls, coordination with SMEs, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions • Maintain records of equipment failure and liaise with engineers and suppliers as necessary • Work with a world-class team located across the world - the "Oracle Global Network Operations" team who supports the network infrastructure environment Desired Qualifications • Have worked with large enterprise network infrastructure supporting 24/7 and willing to work in rotational shifts in a network operations role • 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience supporting network technologies, especially Juniper, Cisco (Nexus and Catalyst), Arista switches, Juniper SRX firewalls, Proficient knowledge in routing protocol (e.g. OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), switching, firewall, load balancer, and DDoS mitigation • Possess analytical skills in resolving network issues with advanced troubleshooting and coordination with onsite support teams and vendors • Experience in using monitoring tools to assist with incident management to identify actionable incidents • Experience in executing medium/complex network changes, along with change requests from service teams in a large enterprise network as per established change management policy • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, technical knowledge of client/server, and Internet concepts and techniques • Excellent oral and written technical and interpersonal communication skills, Highly motivated, and self-starter • Cisco and Juniper certifications desired Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in Data Center, ISP, Enterprise environments, Prior NOC experience 2-5 Years of Cisco Aruba Experience CLI Experience Vendor/Partner support and Management Experience working through a ticketing system (SN, Remedy, Jira) Top Skills' Details Networking fundamentals and Network Operations Support of Link Down, Device Down and Latency/basic connectivity T/S Circuit Issues working with Service Providers Understanding of Network layers, as well as troubleshooting fundamental are key Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
