Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Energy Marshal to oversee and ensure compliance with the Energy Isolation Program at our data center construction campus in Des Moines. This role is pivotal in maintaining safety standards and quality control throughout the project.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure vendors and contractors' Energy Isolation Programs meet or exceed safety policy requirements.Utilize SPS-101 Energy Isolation SPS and Guidebook as the baseline for campus and project implementation.Establish and manage an Energy Isolation assurance process and close gaps identified in audits.Participate in High Risk Activity L2 planning meetings related to Energy Isolation.Ensure approval processes for proposed Energy Isolation procedures.Work with the Authorizing Energy Marshal to establish an Energy Isolation Permit process.Review SoWs, MOPs, and Scripts to identify all energy sources.Determine if group or individual LOTO is required and establish centralized LOTO with site entities.Verify qualifications, training, and PPE of personnel performing the work.Liaise with MS Operations where energy isolation activities may impact data center core operations.Act as subject matter expert in Energy Isolation incident investigations.Serve as authority to stop unsafe work practices regarding Energy Isolation.Participate in L2 quality walks and bi-weekly QAQC meetings, schedule permitting.Spend 80% of time in the field completing audit walks of LOTO activities and electrical quality installation.Essential SkillsExperience in data center construction and commissioning standards.Ability to interact with teams and implement improvements.Effective communication of complex technical solutions to engineers and non-engineers.Ability to audit site practices against written standards.Interpretation of line drawings and system redundancies to ensure effective LOTO system design.Familiarity with multiple sources of energy in data centers, with emphasis on electrical.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Energy Isolation Program Plan and commencement of activities.Ability to communicate and provide guidance on SPS-101 Energy Isolation program documents.Establish acceptance criteria for site Energy Isolation Plans and Assurance.Ability to conduct audits and provide reports on inspections, issues, deficiencies, and best practices.Work Environment
The role is onsite with 80% of the time spent in the field. You will need a cell phone and laptop, with Bluebeam preferred software. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with 10 hours onsite daily.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
