**Job Title:** Data Architect (AWS)
**Location:** Remote (CST)
**Pay Range:** $80-$87/hr
**Term:** 1 Year Contract initially
**Overview**
Lead the design and implementation of a modern AWS-based data lakehouse architecture. This role is 80% hands-on and 20% strategic, ensuring scalability, governance, and compliance for enterprise data initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
+ Design and implement **data lakehouse architecture** using AWS services.
+ Define and enforce **data governance frameworks** and standards.
+ Collaborate with engineers to integrate data sources and optimize performance.
+ Support **data mesh architecture** and distributed data ownership.
+ Provide strategic input on architecture while actively coding and building solutions.
**Required Skills**
+ Deep expertise in **AWS services** (S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Step Functions).
+ Strong experience in **data architecture** and **data mesh principles** .
+ Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
+ Hands-on experience with large-scale data integration and transformation.
**Nice-to-Haves**
+ Familiarity with compliance-heavy industries (Healthcare, Financial Services).
+ Experience with automated governance and metadata management.
**Soft Skills**
+ Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
+ Collaborative and respectful in team settings.
+ Open to feedback and continuous improvement.
