Data and Policy Analyst
Center of the American Experiment
### Job Duties
1. Developing and deploying statistical models to analyze Minnesota's fiscal and regulatory policies, as well as social and economic phenomena.
2. Mining and analyzing large datasets to derive policy insights, including forecasts and policy recommendations.
3. Generating data results in multiple formats, such as research papers, policy reports and briefs, blog posts as well as infographics.
4. Educating the public on policy issues through videos and speaking presentations.
5. Analyzing legislative proposals and testifying in legislative hearings.
Travel Required approx. 5% of the time.
### Minimum Education Required
Master's degree in data science, economics, public policy, statistics, or related field.
### Minimum Experience Required
1. 3 years' experience working in public policy analysis
2. 2 years' experience in data analysis and statistical modeling with tools such as Python, Stata, and R.
3. 1 year experience in data visualization software such as Power BI and Tableau.
4. 2 years' experience with statistical models such as panel data regressions and other predictive modeling techniques to analyze and interpret social and economic phenomena using complex data sets.
5. 3 years' experience regarding Minnesota's fiscal and regulatory policy, as well as economic landscape.
6. 3 years experience communicating complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the public and legislators, through speeches, op-eds, social media posts, videos, ect.
