Role Overview

The Data Analytics Specialist is a key position within our Global Internal Audit team. In this role, you'll design and implement data-driven solutions for audit engagements, collaborate with audit teams to enhance analytical approaches, and contribute to the advancement of our data analytics capabilities.

This position is ideal for an innovative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in an autonomous environment with minimal supervision. You'll take full ownership of analytics projects from inception to delivery, proactively managing stakeholder relationships while anticipating needs rather than waiting for assignments. As we prepare for the future of audit technology, including autonomous agents, you will be instrumental in developing the foundational capabilities that enable this transformation. We're seeking someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work independently and is excited about pioneering next-generation audit methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage end-to-end analytics projects, from initial scoping through final delivery, with minimal oversightProactively identify and communicate project risks, opportunities, and timeline adjustments to stakeholdersIdentify and propose automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance audit efficiency and effectivenessDesign data analytics approaches that align with engagement objectives and internal audit standardsCollaborate with audit teams to develop analytics requirements and approaches for engagementsDesign, develop, and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards to support audit planning and executionReformulate business questions from audit teams into structured analytics problem statementsDevelop and validate hypotheses about relationships between inputs and outputs in audit dataCreate comprehensive data management plans for audit analytics projectsGather, clean, and analyze complex datasets from diverse sources across on-premises and cloud environmentsApply intermediate data analysis techniques to test controls and identify anomaliesIntegrate data analytics into audit planning and risk assessment processesCreate data-driven approaches to evaluate governance structures and processesDevelop analytics methods to test for potential fraud indicators and anomaliesSupport development of strategic data pipelines and agentic workflows in preparation for next-generation autonomous audit technologiesCreate compelling data visualizations and "data stories" to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholdersDocument data findings in a clear, actionable format for stakeholdersAnticipate future analytical needs and recommend innovative solutions to address emerging audit challengesSupport the development and maintenance of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models for domain-specific knowledge in auditsAnalyze data to assess compliance with key regulatory requirementsSupport integrated assurance approaches by coordinating with other assurance providers

Required Skills & Abilities

Proven ability to work autonomously with exceptional attention to detail, taking full ownership of deliverables with minimal supervisionDemonstrated track record of proactive stakeholder management, including regular status updates, risk identification, and solution-oriented communicationSelf-starter mentality with ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and analytical innovation with minimal directionExperience managing multiple concurrent projects independently with strong time management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills, capable of handling sensitive data and delivering complex information effectivelyStrong business acumen to translate audit objectives into actionable analytics approaches with minimal guidanceProficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, analysis, and visualizationExperience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Python libraries)Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and visualizationKnowledge of statistical methods and their applications in audit testingStrong team player who can work autonomously or collaboratively

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or master’s degree in data science, business analytics, management information systems, or a related STEM field2-4 years of experience in data analytics with demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects from conception to completionProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Familiarity with audit processes and risk management conceptsKnowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical applications (preferred)Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CIA, CAP, CDMP, or vendor-specific certifications) are a plus

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
