This Data Analyst I role will focus on people data, supporting the HR function while providing an opportunity to develop a broad, cross-functional understanding of the business. The Business Intelligence (BI) team acts as the organization’s internal data function, with roles spanning analysis, data science, engineering, and research. Together, the team leverages data to answer key business questions and drive insights that help Sheetz achieve success.

OVERVIEW

Responsible for supporting the effective use of Sheetz’ most valuable resource: Data.  Supports Sheetz’ data and information strategy through data analysis and visualization in order to facilitate and enhance organizational decision-making and data utilization across the company.  Provides basic data analytics support to both the Data Analyst II and the Senior Data Analyst roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

Assist in the development of data-driven insights that help support exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities, and be a champion for a data-driven, decision-making culture.Under direct supervision, assist in providing enterprise-wide data science and business intelligence services as well as recommendations and support to decentralized, embedded data scientists and analysts throughout the business.Support more senior Data Analysts with various ad-hoc analytic reporting.Run SQL queries as needed in support of the department.Assist with basic analytical tasks and projects requested by other departments.Assist in the creation of policies and procedures for the access, analysis and visualization of data and associated business insights; partnering with IT and RISC.Responsible for the documenting and classifying data assets and making accessible and discoverable across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

 

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial / Data / Computer Science or related field required

Experience

Experience with or knowledge of data modeling, optimization, and application to business strategies preferred.Experience with or coursework in integrating complex, inter-departmental processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards preferred.Understanding of the latest data mining, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence techniques required.Experience with or recent coursework in designing and implementing information solutions required.
