Job Summary
This role is critical to supporting our organization’s commitment to maintaining high-quality, reliable product data across our SKU portfolio. This opportunity offers the chance to influence business outcomes by ensuring our product data is accurate, reliable, and ready to support key decision-making across the enterprise by partnering with the Category Management, Assortment, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
SKU Data Cleansing: Perform thorough analysis and cleaning of SKU-level data to eliminate duplicates, correct inconsistencies, and validate product records. Utilize both automated and manual techniques to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Duplication Resolution: Identify and flag duplicate SKUs within the product catalog. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to determine which records to merge, archive, or delete. Implement best practices to prevent future duplication.
Discontinued Process Management: Track and manage discontinued SKU records, ensuring proper documentation and appropriate removal or archiving from active systems. Work with product teams to update status and communicate changes throughout the business.
Attribution Collection and Standardization: Gather, verify, and standardize SKU attributes (e.g., size, color, material, etc.) from internal and external sources. Establish consistent rules for attribute assignment, supporting downstream analytics and reporting.
Data Quality Assurance: Develop and perform regular data audits to assess the health of SKU information. Document discrepancies and create remediation plans to address quality issues. Proactively recommend process improvements for data integrity.
Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for SKU cleansing processes, data standards, and procedures. Generate periodic reports on data quality, progress of cleansing initiatives, and outstanding data issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with IT, Assortment, Merchandising, and Category Management teams to understand business requirements, resolve data-related challenges, and ensure seamless integration of cleansed data.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data cleansing tasks. Evaluate new tools and techniques to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
Business Insights: Leverage cleansed SKU data to develop meaningful analyses and recommendations for product lifecycle management, inventory optimization, and sales forecasting.
Nature and Scope
Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.
Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.
Required Qualifications
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
Effective communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Product Information Management solutions.
Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a strong asset.
Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and best practices for maintaining large product catalogs.
Familiarity with process automation tools, such as Alteryx or UiPath.
