How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express is looking for a Data Analyst, Business Insights and Analytics for the issuing business in Australia and New Zealand. This role will report to the Manager, Business Insights and Analytics for our International Card Services (ICS) business. This is a critical technical role that will help innovate and progress our analytics capabilities to support our growth plans while enhancing our focus on control and compliance.
This role will work in close partnership with multiple teams across our issuing business to understand & identify opportunities to leverage our data and systems to provide analytics and automated reporting to support strategic decision making and respond to an ever-changing regulatory environment. The role is a technical role which will focus on coding, problem solving, putting together complex reports for the business, and working with stakeholders to make data driven decisions.
Responsibilities:
Support Development of Strategic Plans and Initiatives: Provide analytics support to Product, Acquisition, Loyalty, Partnership, and Marketing teams on the development of key strategic initiatives. This will include end to end analytics from writing code to pulling data, reviewing the data with manager, packaging data, deriving insights, and presenting to partners.Compliance and Operational Risk: Create analytics to support American Express’ response to a rapidly changing regulatory environment. Develop and automate reporting to assist with identification and remediation of operational risk events, compliance with regulation, and ensure all reporting documentation is complete and well maintained.Program Analytics: Ongoing analysis of key product metrics, profitability levers, customer behaviours, and trends. Generate insights and analysis to support portfolio management. Management of Analytical Databases: Production and upkeep of internal databases, run and refreshed on a regular basis. Investigate and problem solve if issues arise with existing processes.
Skills & Experience
Strong technical background in analytics and stakeholder management.Consulting or actuarial background is advantageous.Expertise in coding skills with emphasis on SQL, Python, and/or BigQuery.Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into insights.High attention to detail & strong time management skills.Ability to influence leaders/partners & strong communication skills.We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best.
