Data Analysis | Environmental Internship: Improving Data Collection for Hazardous Substances
Introduction

The Corporate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department at ASML focuses on managing systems, ensuring compliance, and reporting on environmental and occupational health topics. Each year, ASML publishes a public annual report that includes data on hazardous substances used in its factories and sites across the globe. Collecting this data is a complex task, and a dedicated team is working to improve its accuracy and consistency. We are looking for an intern to support this effort by performing deep dives into the reported data and helping streamline the data collection process, in alignment with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
 

Your assignment

The goal of this internship is to improve the data collection process for Substances of Concern (SoC) and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) across ASML’s global sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct data analyses and deep dives on reported SoC and SVHC.Collaborate with various departments and sites to gather and validate data.Create a handbook with clear guidance on proper data collection procedures.Help align data collection efforts with procurement and other stakeholders.Support improvements to streamline the data collection process.
 Your profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

Are pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Data Analysis, or a related field.Have strong analytical skills and experience working with data.Are familiar with data collection software and preferably with tools such as Power BI, Python, or similar platforms for analysis and automation.Possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.Are eager to investigate and solve complex challenges in a collaborative, international environment.
 

This is a bachelor’s or master’s graduation project or internship for a minimum of 5 months. Students are expected to be available at least 4 days per week, including 2 days on-site. Full-time interns may receive dedicated time to work on their thesis during the assignment. The start date of this internship is as of February 2026. 
 

Other requirements you need to meet

You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship; You need to be located in the Netherlands to be able to perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate. If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
