Dance Team Coach (Staff Wage)

The Athletics Department is seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Team Coach to lead, inspire, and develop our dance team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in dance, choreography, and team leadership, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment. This role involves coaching student-athletes in dance technique and performance preparation while promoting teamwork, discipline, and school spirit.

Key Responsibilities: 

Plan, organize, and lead regular practices, conditioning sessions, and team meetings. Oversee choreography for performances at games and community events. Foster a team culture that emphasizes respect, accountability, and personal growth. Ensure all team activities comply with school policies and safety guidelines. Communicate effectively with team members and spirit coordinator. Evaluate team members’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Promote school spirit and represent the school positively at all events.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Experience: Some experience in coaching this particular sport program at the collegiate and/or professional level.

Preferred Experience: Prior experience in dance team leadership. Four years coaching experience at the collegiate level. Strong knowledge of various dance styles (e.g., jazz, hip-hop, pom). Excellent communication, organizational, and motivational skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Work is performed in the process of coaching student-athletes within a sports program.
