Position Description
Candidates for this position will be required to have an overall understanding of Geographical Information Systems mapping techniques and design. Knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS software is required and a general understanding of pipeline systems would be a plus. Among the candidate’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Aerial Patrol Program support, Processing Data, Managing Data, Tracking and Tracing data in various systems, as well as providing data analysis as required by customers.
Responsibilities for the person in this position would include the following:
• Maintain, update, and distribute various system reports
• Provide immediate, quality response to high priority or emergency Database.
• Work closely with I.T. to maintain system reliability and access.
• Create reports for aerial patrol.
• Maintain DP system schematics
• Coordinate the flow of data and information to ensure efficient and timely delivery of data
• Must be available for after-hours calls and support on a rotating schedule
• Other duties assigned
Position Requirements
Education
• A degree from an accredited institution or equivalent related pipeline industry experience is preferred
• Associates degree in GIS or Engineering Sciences or equivalent experience working with pipeline databases may be considered
Skills/Qualifications
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with all levels of management as well as employees in corporate and field offices
• Strong leadership skills with a history of leading teams to complete projects. A history of executing projects with challenging circumstances is preferred.
• Strong project coordination, planning and overall management skills
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, interpersonal skills, analytical skills and the ability to analyze a problem from various perspectives and make sound recommendations are required.
• Employee must have a good understanding of data flow through various systems and understand basic table structures
• The individual must be self-motivated and willing to learn new and changing technologies.
• Individual must possess drive for self-directed work activity and be able to maintain a close working relationship with reporting employees in multiple locations.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
• A technical understanding of pipeline systems is preferred - including but not limited to GIS, Pipeline Database Systems (PODS, ISAT), components and characteristics of Pipeline material and data associated with the Pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize daily work to meet schedules and objectives, maintain confidentiality, and work with remote team members
• Job level commensurate with skill set, knowledge, and experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
• Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the public
• Position requires occasional travel
• Programming or CAD experience would be considered valuable, but not required
