D Shift Process Technician
Job Summary: The Process Technician reports directly to the Production Supervisor. In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting up and adjusting molding machines, performing mold changes, troubleshooting process issues, and ensuring consistent part quality. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with injection molding equipment, a strong understanding of plastic materials, and a sharp eye for quality and efficiency. D shift hours: EVERY OTHER Wednesday.Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 5:50pm - 6:00am Core Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Startups Set up injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment. Ensure proper material loading, temperature settings, pressures, and cycle times. Perform mold changes and startups to get the process running smoothly. Process Optimization Adjust machine settings to improve cycle times, part quality, and reduce scrap. Fine-tune process parameters (like pressure, temperature, injection speed) based on material and part specs. Troubleshooting Identify and fix molding issues such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warping, or color problems. Diagnose problems related to machines, molds, or materials. Quality Control Support Work closely with quality teams to ensure parts meet visual and dimensional standards. Make real-time process adjustments based on quality feedback. Maintenance Support Perform minor maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment. Report larger mechanical or tooling issues to maintenance or engineering teams. Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain setup sheets, process logs, and production records. Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process specs as needed. Safety & Cleanliness Follow safety procedures and ensure machines are running safely. Keep work area clean and organized to support efficient production. Skills & Knowledge Typically Required: Understanding of plastics and how different resins behave Knowledge of injection molding machines (e.g., Arburg, Engel, Husky, etc.) Ability to read blueprints and use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) Problem-solving skills related to both mechanical and quality issues Familiarity with process control systems and monitoring tools On-Site: This role is required to be on-site either 3 or 4 days depending on the week at the Denver, CO location.
