Labcorp is seeking a US remote based Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team!
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-430pm (candidate local time zone)
Job Responsibilities:
Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens. Focus is primarily on constitutional blood cases, with a possibility of prenatal casesAnalyze chromosomes for count, structural abnormality, and morphology from computer acquired image of a metaphase according to appropriate SOPPrepare preliminary report for interpretation by arranging (karyotyping) the different pairs of chromosomes identifying their proper numerical sequenceEnter analysis information into appropriate computer systems for director interpretationCheck karyotypes according to departmental and group procedures and protocols prior to director reviewEnsure chromosomes are placed and oriented properlyVerify patient demographic information.Verify that karyotype matches written diagnosis.Ensure karyotypes are appropriate for director review based on test ordered and resultRemote transfer of electronic images to and from satellite reading labs for analysis.Perform routine maintenance on laboratory and computer equipment in designated areaParticipate in proficiency testing as required, maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency samples are tested in the same manner as patient samplesAttend all required meetings and represents laboratory in a professional mannerParticipate in required continuing education activities.Comply with company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and companyMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology2 years or more of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory1 or more years experience performing karyotyping1 or more years experience performing constitutional cytogenetics analysisPreferred Qualifications:
1 or more years experience with prenatal analysis1 or more years experience with Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) softwareASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)Additional Job Standards:
Previous experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized imagesComputer skills; able to effectively use the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft OfficeEffective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedbackStrong patient focusEffectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional developmentSelf-motivated and self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervisionWork From Home Requirements:

**Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
