Job Summary:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for performing regular inventory audits to ensure the accuracy of stock levels and inventory records. This role involves counting physical inventory, identifying discrepancies, and collaborating with other departments to resolve issues. The Cycle Counter contributes to the overall efficiency of inventory management and helps prevent stock shortages or overages.
Key Responsibilities:Inventory Audits:Perform scheduled cycle counts of inventory in designated areas.Verify physical inventory against system records and investigate discrepancies.Discrepancy Resolution:Research and resolve inventory variances by working with warehouse staff, purchasing, and other relevant departments.Document and report findings to supervisors or management.Data Entry and Reporting:Update inventory records in the system to reflect accurate stock levels.Generate cycle count reports and provide insights into inventory accuracy.Inventory Organization:Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, and organized for easy access and accurate counting.Identify and report damaged, expired, or obsolete inventory.Compliance and Accuracy:Follow company procedures and policies related to inventory control and cycle counting.Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail during all inventory tasks.Collaboration:Work closely with warehouse staff, purchasing, and production teams to address inventory-related issues.Assist with inventory adjustments and reconciliation as needed.Additional Duties:Support physical inventory audits and year-end inventory counts.Assist in other warehouse or inventory-related tasks as assigned.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (required).Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain (preferred).Familiarity with inventory management systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, WMS).Skills:Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Basic math and data analysis skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory software.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, which may include varying temperatures.Key Competencies:Analytical thinking and problem-solving.Communication and teamwork.Accountability and reliability.Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Work Environment:The Cycle Counter typically works in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.The role may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and other warehouse conditions.Shift work or overtime may be required, especially during peak inventory periods.ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
