Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Support Services Engineer to perform ongoing cybersecurity cyber hygiene and compliance activities across a heterogeneous portfolio that includes Windows and Linux based Client-Server implementations deployed in On-Prem, VMware based virtualization and AWS and Azure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

The CSSE is a critical role in implementing and maintaining overall security posture of systems.  It includes, but is not limited to, identification of remediation actions for vulnerability and compliance findings for Operating system and application software, inclusive of ongoing vendor patch releases and updates as well as testing and validation of baseline system configurations for compliance with Security and Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and customer specific configuration and policy requirements.

Responsibilities include

Vulnerability and Compliance Remediation:Establish, update and maintain automated patching services (e.g. WSUS, Satellite, Ansible) for deployed technology baselinesImplement patches and configuration updates to resolve findings noted from multiple sources (e.g. security scans, IAVM processes (IAVA/IAVB), Cyber Task Orders) within specified timeframes.Testing and validation:Document and conduct test activities to validate system changes (e.g. patch updates, system upgrades) to ensure no degradation of security posture.Draft and present test reports capturing.Provide recommendations for security control implementation and identifying necessary countermeasures or mitigating controlsRespond to and oversee / coordinate responses to queries and requests for security information and reportsIncident Response & Security Oversight:Support and coordinate investigations of security incidents and reporting findings as necessaryGuide and coordinate the communication, implementation and enforcement of security policies and plans for data, applications, hardware, and telecommunications systemsAdvise stakeholders on information assurance standards, dependencies, and emerging security technologies

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience: Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience in system administration, STIG application and validation, as well as exposure to vulnerability and compliance managementCertifications:Required: DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification required (active and valid CySA+, Security+, CND, RHCSA, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)Preferred Skills:Documented experience with cloud security implementations in Azure or AWS environmentsThorough understanding of security policies, cybersecurity test methodologies and vulnerability assessment tools.
