Role Definition:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity SOC Manager to lead our Security Operations Center. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of our digital assets, infrastructure, and data. The SOC Manager will oversee a 24X7 team of analysts and engineers responsible for monitoring, detecting, responding to, and mitigating cybersecurity threats.
What You Will Do:
Lead and manage the SOC team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
Oversee 24/7 security monitoring, incident detection, and response operations.
Develop and maintain SOC processes, playbooks, and escalation procedures.
Coordinate incident response efforts and ensure timely resolution and reporting.
Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams (e.g., threat intelligence, Hunt, GRC) to enhance detection and response capabilities.
Continuously evaluate and improve SOC tools, technologies, and workflows.
Prepare and present metrics, reports, and dashboards to senior leadership.
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
What You Have:
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of experience in cybersecurity
3+ years in a Cybersecurity leadership role.
Strong understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
3+ relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, GCIH, GWAPT) strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat modeling.
Budgeting:
Knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget
Planning: Tactical, Strategic:
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Talent Management:
Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selecting, retaining, and leveraging talent across the organization.
Team Management:
Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.
Information Technology (IT) Security Policies:
Knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.
Risk Management:
Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
Cybersecurity:
Knowledge of network attacks and the defenses used; ability to defend and prevent electronic threats, theft, and attacks.
Strong knowledge of information security frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF & 800 series, COBIT, PCI-DSS or FAIR
Experience developing, evaluating, or implementing cybersecurity, information technology, or risk assessment activities.

The primary location for this position is Nashville, TN, Peoria, IL, or Irving, TX.
Candidates must be willing to work onsite 5 days a week.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
