Role/ Department:
This role will sit in the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team within Northern Trust’s Technology function (1st Line of Defense). As a Cybersecurity GRC Compliance Associate, you will play a role in supporting the mission of the team which includes monitoring adherence to cyber rules and regulations, controls oversight and assurance, and co-ordination of cyber controls information and evidence to regulators, auditors and clients. The ideal candidate will combine a Compliance or Audit mindset and experience with knowledge of and passion for cybersecurity.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Support the cyber compliance and assurance team by assisting with daily tasks and contributing to ongoing projectsHelp coordinate information and gather evidence for cyber controls (including SOC2 and SOX testing and reporting etc.) as neededWork with Internal Audit to provide requested documents and support audits related to cybersecurityAssist in compiling information and evidence on cyber controls for regulatory requestsAssist in preparing information and evidence on cyber controls for client requests, helping to support client needs and inquiriesContribute to ensuring compliance with cyber-related regulatory requirements in the different regions where Northern Trust operatesHelp maintain the cyber controls evidence repository by organizing materials and supporting quality and consistency of informationTrack and report on cybersecurity issues and findings, making sure information is up to date and remediation steps are monitoredWork with colleagues in the broader Cybersecurity team to help make sure new products, services, and processes are compliant and controlledCollaborate with team members and various internal stakeholders to improve understanding and implementation of cybersecurity regulations and internal controls in business and technology practicesSkills/ Qualifications:
Experience in Cybersecurity, Compliance, Audit, or a related areaBasic understanding of cyber regulations, risk management frameworks, and methodologiesStrong interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn and grow within the fieldGood communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a teamAnalytical and problem-solving mindset, with a keen attention to detailRelevant certifications such as Security+ or similar are a plus, but not requiredWorking with Us:
