STS Technical Services is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer in Westminster, Colorado.

Position Summary

Our client is a trusted partner to U.S. government missions, providing advanced cybersecurity, secure communications, and systems verification. They are seeking a highly experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong background in offensive security and penetration testing to help ensure the quality, security, and reliability of next-generation defense technologies.

In this role, you will conduct vulnerability assessments, support research into emerging technologies, and perform advanced penetration testing on systems that directly support national security. This is an on-site position at APG, Maryland, with up to 10% travel required.

Key Responsibilities Conduct vulnerability assessments on web applications, networked devices, standalone software products, and other assigned technologies using the penetration testing life cycle Apply new penetration testing tools and techniques to maintain efficacy and accuracy in testing methods Conduct research and development efforts on current and emerging cybersecurity technologies Analyze and interpret network traffic to identify vulnerabilities using tools such as Wireshark and Burp Suite Support secure communications and systems verification through technical documentation and results reporting Operate in SCIF lab environments with strict security restrictions (no phones, wireless/Bluetooth devices, or outside technology permitted) Collaborate with team members, leadership, and clients to communicate technical findings clearly and effectively Travel up to 10% as needed Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance) DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of offensive security and penetration testing experience Proficiency with penetration-testing tools and methodologies for both network and application layers Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows internals Thorough understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, VirtualBox, and ESXi Ability to effectively communicate technical findings, both verbally and in writing Must be able to work full-time on site at APG, MD (telework not available) Desired Qualifications Active DoD TS/SCI clearance OSCP or equivalent certification Basic cryptography knowledge Programming or scripting skills in Python, Java, C/C++, or Bash Experience with code analysis and reverse engineering Knowledge of hardware exploitation techniques such as chip-off or fault injection Familiarity with COTS/GOTS radios, SDRs, and RF concepts About STS Technical Services
