This high-visibility role builds and sustains collaborative relationships with state agencies, local governments, and external partners to strengthen Florida’s cyber resilience. Responsibilities include leading cybersecurity community initiatives, managing events, facilitating Cyber Advisory Council meetings and work groups, and coordinating cybersecurity awareness and training programs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as primary liaison between FLDS and state/local government cybersecurity stakeholders. • Plan and facilitate Cyber Advisory Council (CAC) meetings, enterprise security leader meetings, and work group sessions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. • Organize and execute statewide cybersecurity events, including cybersecurity conferences, Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities, and local government town halls/webinars. • Coordinate cybersecurity training initiatives, including statewide cyber range exercises, phishing simulations, and curriculum development for local governments. • Develop and maintain Information Security Manager (ISM) and Local Resource Packets, ensuring timely updates and broad distribution. • Maintain the Florida Digital Service mailbox, triaging inquiries and coordinating responses with subject matter experts. • Represent FLDS at conferences, speaking engagements, and community events. • Track and report on CAC recommendations, training metrics, and community engagement activities. • Identify opportunities for partnerships and community-driven initiatives to advance statewide cybersecurity objectives. • Maintain cybersecurity training criteria used by state and local cybersecurity professionals Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of: • Cybersecurity principles, policies, and frameworks (NIST, CIS, Florida Cybersecurity Standards). • Florida statutes related to cybersecurity (F.S. 282.318, F.S. 282.3185, F.S. 282.319). • Event planning, public communications, and stakeholder engagement best practices. Skills in: • Public speaking and facilitation of large and small group meetings. • Coordinating cross-agency projects and multi-stakeholder initiatives. • Developing written materials, including agendas, reports, presentations, and training content. Abilities to: • Build consensus among diverse stakeholders. • Translate technical concepts into language for non-technical audiences. • Manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines. • Travel within Florida as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Communications, Cybersecurity, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience: 3+ years in program management, stakeholder engagement, or community coordination. • Experience planning and facilitating large-scale events or multistakeholder meetings. • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and public sector operations. Other: • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Willingness to travel and occasionally work outside normal business hours. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Advanced degree in Public Administration, Communications, or Cybersecurity. • Experience in government relations, public policy, or legislative affairs. • Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, Security+, or PMP. • Background in cybersecurity awareness training or public affairs.
