The Opportunity

Functions as a technical IP/Data Network or Optical Transport Architect. With minimal oversight, works in collaboration with network architect(s) to develop and apply moderate to intermediate network concepts and approaches to unique packetized network design and engineering problems. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity or serve as an intermediate technical resource providing knowledge and expertise.

Typical client base includes Department of Defense (DOD), United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and many private companies in the Federal arena where Black & Veatch frequently teams for project execution in joint venture (JV) roles or utilizes a sub/prime contracting arrangement. 

Key Responsibilities

This Junior Network Architect will be responsible for portions of IP/Data network, Optical Transport and Cybersecurity planning, assessment, design, implementation and optimization for Black & Veatch clients. May offer technical advisory and consulting services to the client. Provides intermediate technical support to business development and pursuit activities, including assisting in the creation of proposal, scope, level of effort estimation and implementation plans.  Leads and participates in project execution and technical delivery.

Management Responsibilities Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information Security/Computer Science/Electronics and Engineering/Information Technology preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities. Currently holds or has held vendor and recognized independent certifications (e.g. CCNA, NRS I, JNCIA, CISSP, SANS ISC, INL CCE, CISM, CISA, Ciena OC-A, OC-P, OC-C, Fujitsu, SEL, etc.) preferred or equivalent to 5+ years of industry experience. NCR certification  Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
