As a Cyber Security Engineer on an Enterprise Zero Trust Program for a DoD client, your responsibilities will include: 

Assessing and improving security architecture, design, development, and operation of security solutions. 

Conducting technology and system assessments, providing technical consultation, and ensuring system security functionality.  

Analyzing security systems and seeking continuous improvements.  

Identifying and mitigating security risks, including potential threats and vulnerabilities.  

Ensuring adherence to industry best practices and security standards.   

Responding to security incidents, including malware analysis, remote system analysis, and mitigating actions to contain activity.  

Developing and fielding secure network solutions to protect against advanced persistent threats.  

Researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in incident identification.  

Collaborating with other teams, including application and infrastructure teams, to ensure security is integrated into the overall system.  

Providing technical and systems consultation to internal clients and management.  

Basic Qualifications: 

Ability to effectively respond to security incidents, analyze data, and take appropriate actions.  

Experience with ethical hacking techniques to identify vulnerabilities in systems.  

Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and solve complex problems.  

Deep understanding security in cloud environments, including cloud implementations and management.  

Identifying and analyzing potential threats to systems. 

Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  

Staying up to date with the latest security threats and technologies.  

Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and new technologies.  

Required Skills/Knowledge: 

Experience in DoD environment with knowledge of computer and network security concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. 

Experience with security tools and methodologies, like Trellix, ForeScout, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, or similar. 

Experience with implementing SIEM/SOAR tools for cyber security monitoring and automated response. 

Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, and Ruby for scripting and automating security tasks.  

Experience configuring and securing Linux, Windows, and UNIX systems. 

Experience with implementing network scanning tools, such as Tenable, Remedy, OSCAP, etc. 

Knowledge of encryption algorithms and best practices. 

Desired Skills/Knowledge: 

Experience leading Cyber Engineering team and implementing Zero Trust environments.  

Awareness of standards like ISO 27001, NIST, and DoD Zero Trust frameworks.  

Previous experience working in a DoD STIG/RMF environment. 

Current Secret clearance 

DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification  

Bachelor’s degree in field like Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or other related field.
