Cyber Security Senior Manager

Aloha! One of Hawaii's largest healthcare insurers is seeking a Sr. Manager, IT Security Operations that will be responsible for managing the company's Cyber Security operations function. This position leads a cross-functional team of Cyber Security specialists in support of the the client's business and Cyber Security strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field;
Five years of experience in IT security, with at least three years in a management or leadership role.
Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, HIPAA etc.) and risk management principles.
Proven experience with security technologies (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.).
Strong customer service skills.
Strong process and project management skills.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong knowledge of operating systems, architecture and various software and hardware products.
Good technical and troubleshooting skills.
Intermediate understanding and implementation capability of security best practices and technology and demonstrate proficiency in the application of established information security practices.
At least one of the Industry Standard IT Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA
Duties and Responsibilities
Cyber Security Operations
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of security analysts and engineers.
Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement within the team.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
Security Operations Management:
Oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC) and ensure effective monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents.
Develop and refine incident response procedures and playbooks.
Manage and optimize security tools and technologies
Risk Management and Compliance:
Conduct regular risk and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, HIPAA, SOC 2) and industry standards.
Collaborate with internal auditors and external partners during compliance audits.
Strategic Planning:
Create roadmaps in support of CISO strategy; communicate and execute this roadmap.
Work effectively with other IT areas and the business ensuring IT Security Operational activities are in place in accordance with best practice and NIST.
Create and update IT Security operation related policies and procedures leveraging industry best practices and Enterprise NIST CSF
Support Enterprise IT Audits; Collaborate with IT and Internal Audit on all Cyber Security Risk-related activities.
Develop KPI's and SLA's, communicate and report on these metrics.
Develop and implement the IT security operations strategy aligned with the organization's overall security framework.
Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and recommend necessary adjustments to security policies and practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with IT, legal, and business units to ensure a unified approach to security.
Prepare and present security reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Incident Management:
Lead investigations into security breaches and coordinate response efforts.
Analyze security incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Personnel Management:
Provide leadership, manage, and coach cybersecurity unit staff in overall Information Security Program management. Provide management support including personnel, budget and other administrative responsibilities, (i.e., mentoring, performance management, career planning and counseling, etc.).
Manage budget to ensure the organization's cyber security program is conducted in a cost conscious and financially responsible manner
Perform all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $86000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Health Plan Hawaii PlusThis HMO plan provides great coverage for hospital care, prenatal and postpartum care, standard childhood immunizations, routine physicals, laboratory fees, and X-rays and more. Services must be received from our large HMO network.
CompMed HRAMembers see any provider they choose. The plan pays up to 80% of the eligible charge for most services after the annual deductible is met. This plan includes a special expense account called a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).
Dental coverageHMSA employees choose from HMSA’s Preferred Dental plan, a free-choice dental plan, or the HMSA Dental Network, an HMO dental plan.
Drug and vision coverageHMSA employees receive drug coverage for generic and brand-name drugs. A mail-order drug program for purchasing maintenance drugs is also a benefit.
Vision care benefits include an eye exam and coverage for eyeglass lenses or contact lenses every year, and coverage for frames every two years.
HolidaysHMSA employees get nine paid holidays each year.
Personal DaysEmployees earn 15 paid personal days in their first year, increasing to 28 personal days after nine years of employment.
Group life insuranceAfter three months of employment, HMSA pays the entire premium for group life insurance coverage of 2.5 times the employee’s annual salary, plus $10,000 coverage for their spouse and $2,000 for each child. The plan includes accidental death and dismemberment coverage equal to 2.5 times the annual salary.
Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI)TDI benefits cover employees’ pay for time off due to a non-work related illness or injury. TDI begins two full, consecutive calendar days after the illness or injury. Employees receive 20 TDI days per calendar year.
Long-Term Disability InsuranceAfter one year of employment, HMSA employees are eligible to receive 60% of their salary if they’re ill or injured for more than 90 days. Payments may continue for the duration of the illness or injury up to age 65.
Employee Assistance ProgramIn addition to regular health plan benefits for mental health and substance abuse, HMSA employees can use six visits per year for professional assessment and counseling at WorkLife Hawaii at no cost.
401(k) PlanHMSA employees are immediately eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan that includes company matches to employee contributions. Employees may also receive a discretionary contribution of up to 3 percent of pay each year to their 401(k) Plan.
Flexible Spending PlanHMSA employees can use pre-tax income to cover medical, dependent care, or insurance premium expenses.
HMSA Employees’ Federal Credit UnionWith offices in Honolulu and Kapolei, the HMSA Employees’ Federal Credit Union offers automatic payroll deduction to savings accounts, loans, financial counseling, notary services, money orders, and travelers checks. A $5 deposit is required to join.
