We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join our Bunnings Security team.

What’s involved

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Design and implement secure architecture solutions that protect our systems, data and infrastructure.Lead the development of strategic roadmaps for cyber security capabilities.Partner with project teams to embed security into every stage of the development lifecycle.Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions.Develop architectural standards and long-term capability roadmaps that align security architecture to business goals and regulatory requirements.Stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies to keep our defences sharp.Contribute to the creation and evolution of security policies, standards and governance frameworks.Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to share insights and tackle industry-wide challenges.Support incident response efforts and help drive continuous improvement in our security posture.

About You

You’re someone who thrives on solving complex problems and thinking a few steps ahead. You bring a big-picture mindset, but you’re not afraid to get into the detail when it counts. You’re a natural collaborator who enjoys working across teams and translating technical concepts into clear, actionable advice.


You’ll be joining a close-knit, high-performing cyber security team that values curiosity, initiative and a shared commitment to keeping Bunnings safe. We’re all about learning, growing and inspiring you to give it a red hot go - no matter where you’re starting from.
 

What you’ll need

To hit the ground running, you’ll bring:

7+ years’ experience in information security, with a strong grasp of current threats and mitigation strategies.Deep knowledge of system architecture, security controls and cloud environments.Experience driving end-to-end cybersecurity architecture initiatives, with a strong grasp of threat modelling techniques to proactively identify risks and shape secure, scalable solutions.Hands-on experience with tools like SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection and identity management.Experience driving end-to-end cybersecurity architecture initiatives, with a strong grasp of threat modelling techniques to proactively identify risks and shape secure, scalable solutions.Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as NIST, PCI-DSS, GDPR and Australian privacy laws.Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.A relevant degree in technology or equivalent practical experience.A passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of the curve.
