As a Cybersecurity Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Department of State. You will play a crucial role in cyber security and network monitoring.
HOW A NETWORK OPERATION CENTER ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
● Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
● Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
● Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
● Escalate incidents to higher-tier technicians or engineering teams as necessary.
● Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for future reference and analysis.
● Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your cyber expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cybersecurity Analyst must have:
● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Security +CE
● Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain and approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire
● Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
● 2 year (4+ preferred) technical experience
● 1 years of helpdesk experience
● Department of State employee or contractor experience preferred but not required
● User experience with system monitoring tools such Splunk and ScienceLogic.
● User experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection
● Familiarity of Cisco Switches and Firewalls and VMWare Products
● Working knowledge of various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
● Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
● Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred.
● Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
● Dayshift work only
● US Citizenship Required and Top Secret clearance
