Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Threat Hunter to proactively identify and track advanced threats targeting our federal government clients. The ideal candidate will combine advanced analytical skills with deep technical knowledge to hunt for sophisticated adversaries across multiple environments. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:** + The Threat Hunter will lead proactive threat hunting initiatives and advanced threat detection activities. Key responsibilities include: + Proactively search for indicators of compromise (IoCs) and malicious activity + Analyze network traffic, logs, and other data sources + Design and execute threat hunting campaigns and strategies + Develop and implement hunting methodologies + Analyze threat intelligence for hunting leads + Conduct advanced pattern and anomaly detection + Create and tune detection rules + Perform advanced forensic analysis + Investigate potential compromises + Track threat actor TTPs + Develop threat hunting playbooks + Document findings and create reports + Support incident response activities + Perform malware analysis + Create hunting hypotheses + Maintain threat hunting tools + Share findings with security teams **Education and Experience:** **Required:** + Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field + 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity + 3+ years of dedicated threat hunting experience + Advanced security certifications (SANS GDAT, GCFA, or equivalent) + Experience with threat intelligence platforms **Required Skills and Competencies:** + Deep understanding of network and security protocols + Strong scripting and programming skills + Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills + Expert knowledge of threat hunting methodologies + Strong understanding of adversary TTPs + Experience with MITRE ATT&CK framework + Advanced forensic analysis skills + Proficiency in scripting languages + Expertise in log analysis + Knowledge of malware behavior + Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk) + Strong analytical abilities + Advanced pattern recognition skills + Knowledge of network protocols + Experience with EDR/XDR tools + Strong documentation abilities + Excellent problem-solving skills **Desired Skills and Competencies:** + Master's degree in relevant field + Additional certifications (CISSP, GCTI) + Experience with classified systems + Knowledge of reverse engineering + Expertise in memory forensics + Experience with threat intelligence + Knowledge of data science/analytics + Familiarity with AI/ML applications + Experience with deception technologies + Advanced automation skills + Cloud security expertise + Published security research + CTF competition experience + Experience with federal systems + Public speaking experience **Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy** The company is an equal opportunity employer.
