Work you'll do:

Excellent opportunity to conduct cybersecurity engineering to help safeguard computer systems, networks, and data against cyber threats. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive information. A Junior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for supporting the cybersecurity team in protecting the organization's information systems and networks. This role involves assisting in the implementation and maintenance of security measures, monitoring for security breaches, and responding to incidents. The Junior Cybersecurity Engineer works under the guidance of senior cybersecurity professionals and contributes to the overall security posture of the organization.

Monitor security alerts and logs to identify potential security incidents. Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents, including documentation and reporting for vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans. Assist in the analysis and remediation of identified vulnerabilities. Maintain current knowledge of emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software). Support the maintenance and updating of security tools to ensure optimal performance. Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures. Prepare regular reports on security metrics and incidents for management review.

Qualifications

Required: 

Bachelor’s degree required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance required. Must be able to work full time on-site in Virginia. 2+ years of the following experience: Familiarity with common security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software). Knowledge of network protocols and operating systems (Windows, Linux). Ability to analyze security logs and alerts to identify potential threats.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $76,700 to $127,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
