Position Summary
The Tableau Developer Intern will primarily focus on designing high‑quality, Tableau dashboards and visualizations that transform complex customer experience and behavioral data into clear, actionable insights. This role emphasizes visual analytics, dashboard UX, and data storytelling to help business users understand customer trends, engagement, and performance through Tableau.
The intern will build Tableau‑based customer analytics tools that enable teams and senior leadership to easily access trusted customer data and insights, supporting informed decision‑making and driving measurable improvements in customer experience and business outcomes.
Major Responsibilities
Design and develop visually polished Tableau dashboards that clearly communicate business metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
Translate business requirements and analytical questions into effective KPIs, visual designs, and dashboard wireframes.
Build dashboards for executive, operational, and analytical audiences, emphasizing clarity, usability, and storytelling.
Apply advanced Tableau concepts including Level of Detail, expressions, table calculations, parameters for dynamic user‑driven analysis, and dashboard and worksheet actions.
Apply data visualization best practices such as visual hierarchy, color theory, layout consistency, and intuitive interactivity.
Work with AWS data platforms, Oracle, and SQL databases to access and understand enterprise datasets.
Create and maintain Tableau data extracts, manage refresh schedules, and support Tableau Cloud publishing.
Perform data cleansing, transformation, validation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Hands‑on experience in Tableau dashboard development and data visualization.
Familiarity with Tableau Desktop, including charts, calculated fields, filters, parameters, LOD expressions, and table calculations.
Working knowledge of SQL for analytical data preparation.
Exposure to Tableau Cloud, including publishing, permissions, extract refreshes, and performance considerations.
Basic understanding of cloud data environments, particularly AWS‑based databases or storage systems.
Strong understanding of visual design principles and analytics storytelling.
Tableau Certification and/or a demonstrated portfolio of dashboards published on Tableau Public is required.
Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate stakeholder feedback.
Good time management and organizational skills
