The EUROPE SUPPLY NETWORK HUB is the heart of the region and the largest planning center in P&G. In our office, we take care of all elements of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to production planning and distribution.

As a key element of our global trade strategy, effective Preferential Origin Management is essential for maximizing cost savings, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and enhancing our competitive advantage in the market. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a CUSTOMS EXPERT – Preferential Origin Analyst who will act as Key User for the automated Preferential Origin Calculation tool.

Roles and Responsibilities

Expertise, guidance

1st point of contact for any Preferential Origin related questions from various departments/functions (e.g. Business, IT, Vendor)

Detailed knowledge of Preferential Origin and ability to communicate and explain calculations/results generated within the tool and associated systems (e.g. ERP)

General knowledge on Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification of P&G Finished products incl. Raw and Packing materials used for production

Monitor and interpret changes in international trade agreements and origin regulations

Daily operations  

Ensuring that calculation tool is working correctly and preferential calculation are completed accurately and on time

Evaluate and determine the preferential origin of goods based on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and applicable rules of origin

HTS classification: perform tariff classification (at least on 6 digit level) for Finished Products and Raw materials incl validation of pre-classified Packing materials

Correction of masterdata (e.g. value of materials, removal of Kit-indicator) to process calculation

Where needed, triggering products to be calculated manually that are not released by automatic job

Ticket handling for MIC OCS standard processes or system outages/errors incl follow up with the external OCS support team and IT department (GBS/DXC)

Where root causing  of calculation issues is needed, analyze BOM to assess whether final products meet origin criteria

Supplier Communication and Data Collection:

Request, validate, and maintain long-term supplier declarations (LTSD) and origin-related documentation

Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to collect necessary origin confirmations for purchased materials

Reporting

Perform analysis on a need base (e.g. statistics of results of a specific business unit)

Support external internal and external audits

Project

Identify opportunities for improvements  

Support implementation, testing, and improvement of IT systems supporting origin management

Job Qualifications

Requirements

Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments (e.g., Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance) to ensure integrated trade compliance processes

HTS Classification Experience: Previous experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification is a plus.

Process Optimization and Automation: Experience in optimizing and automating business processes. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SQL, Oracle, or Python is desirable

Mindset: A proactive and process-oriented mindset with attention to detail

Team Collaboration: A solution-oriented and open-minded approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office and SAP

Language Skills: Proficient in English, both written and spoken
