Customs Compliance Auditor
What you’ll do The Customs Compliance Auditor ensures that CTC adheres to all regulations and legislation set by the Customs Border Services Agency (CBSA). The Auditor is responsible for overseeing Customs operations and regulatory compliance, ensuring that Canadian Tire maintains its trusted trader status. • Review and analyze complex products to ensure accurate and advantageous HS classification.• Compile and complete case investigations and responses for anti-dumping and countervailing compliance.• Liaise with Marketing and Buying Teams to provide expertise on duty rates, tariff treatments, and PGA requirements for current and new products.• Analyze and compile business cases to support maximum duty reductions. Some cases may require support in submission through an appeal process up to CITT.• Provide oversight and input into the import declaration and regulatory governance of Participating Government Agencies.• Compile data and information for CBSA and CBP audits.• Collaborate with internal and external auditors or consultants to ensure Customs regulatory compliance.• Develop and implement internal Customs audit processes and reporting.• Serve as a Customs subject matter expert on cross-functional projects as needed.• Manage time effectively and prioritize workload. What you bring • 3-5 years practical experience in completing internal and external audits and anti-dumping and countervailing investigations.• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) designation.• In-depth knowledge /experience with U.S and Canadian Customs.• Knowledge / experience with Customs rulings and Customs Self-Assessment (CSA).• Exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skills.• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.• Comfortable working toward multiple deadlines at the same time.
