DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain Operational Excellence:
Develop an understanding of Customs requirements and Partner Government Agency involvement in the international trade transactionPrepare import declarations for shipments within a timely mannerUnderstand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation exists for all shipmentsDemonstrate competency with respect to the customs brokerage products’ standard operating procedures (SOP) and best practicesManage customer invoicing, process vendor payables, and assist with receivables of assigned accountsCompilation, classification, and general preparation of entries for Customs & DAWR ClearanceOperate within the Australian Customs ICS systemOperate within the Australian Quarantine release and control systemsReceive and review documentation to input and transmit data for Customs and DAFF clearanceFacilitate Relationships:
Communicate clearly, promptly and effectively with customers, C.H. Robinson offices, agents, and external vendors Foster a positive and collaborative working environment for all team membersAdhere to a high level of operational excellence with respect to on time performance, accuracy, and customer serviceUnderstand and learn to leverage C.H.Robinson’s network of departments, support teams, and leadershipOther duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or Graduate degree, or TAFE CertificationBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programsCurrently pursuing or willing to pursue a Diploma of Customs BrokingPreferred:
CBFCA approved customs broker course of study or similar industry experienceAssociate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityStrong communication, prioritization, and multi-tasking skillsProven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needsValues a diverse and inclusive work environmentBenefits
