About the Walmart Biscuit Business
The Walmart Biscuit team represents over $2 billion in annual sales, making it one of Mondelēz’s largest and most strategic customers. The Business Strategy and Planning Manager role will serve as the strategic hub, integrating insights across Sales, Finance, and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) to drive profitable growth and execution excellence.
Role Overview
The Business Strategy and Planning Manager is a critical support role on the Walmart Biscuit team, responsible for end-to-end planning, analytics, and strategic support. Reporting directly to the Walmart Customer Vice President – Biscuit, this role partners closely with Sweet and Savory business leads, the sales finance manager, and the RGM lead. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in sales, customer planning, category analytics leveraging both Nielsen/Circana & Scintilla.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the central planning and strategy lead supporting the Walmart Biscuit business, representing ~$2B in annual salesLead development of customer volume, promotional, and financial plans, ensuring alignment across Sales, Finance, and RGMAct as the primary analytical engine for the team, leveraging syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Circana) to identify growth opportunities, risks, and performance gapsPartner closely with the Walmart Customer Vice President, Sweet and Savory business leads, Sales Finance, and RGM to strengthen annual and in-year plansSupport the team on building robust promotional plans, including analysis of trade efficiency, volume forecasts, and post-event performanceDevelopment, deployment, and tracking of pallet-ready displays, display complianceLead sell-through tracking and performance analysis for Limited Time Offerings (LTOs) across both Sweet and Savory portfoliosWorking cross functionally to support the creation of internal quarterly and annual planning materials, including leadership-ready storytelling and performance summariesServe as a thought partner and insight generator, using category and shopper analytics to enhance the annual plan and challenge the status quoProvide ad hoc analysis and insights to support business decisions, customer conversations, and leadership requestsMore about this role
Key Capabilities & Experience
Minimum years of experience: +7 years in CPG sales / sales strategy & planning type roleHighly efficient in Microsoft suite, Syndicated data (Nielson preferred) and ScintillaStrong background in Sales, Customer Planning, Category Management, and Commercial AnalyticsDemonstrated experience leveraging syndicated data to drive strategy and decision-makingUnderstanding of Walmart’s retail model, planning cadence, and performance metricsProven ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment, influencing across Sales, Finance, and RGMHighly analytical with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights and executive-ready narrativesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentBatchelor's or higher education, MBA preferredSalary and Benefits:The base salary range for this position is $122,000 to $167,750; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.In addition, Mondelez International offers the following benefits: health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, paid holidays and vacation time.
