Customer Service Representative
Job Title: Customer Service Representative (Benefits Support) Location: 2835 Decker Lake Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84119, United States (Remote Role after training) Contract Duration: 3 months Pay Rate: $19/hour Overview: We’re looking for an empathetic and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to support benefit-related inquiries in a healthcare setting. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn call center operations. You’ll handle inbound calls, assist with benefits enrollment, and provide clear guidance on insurance programs. Key Responsibilities: + Answer 30–40 inbound calls daily from employees and dependents + Provide accurate information on group insurance utilization and coverage + Record employee benefit enrollments and maintain documentation + Identify areas for improvement in program design and administrative procedures + Explain complex aspects of company insurance programs in a clear, compassionate manner + Apply specialized knowledge of benefit plans, company policies, and administrative procedures Required Skills & Qualifications: + Minimum 1 year of customer service experience (in-person or phone-based) + Strong computer skills; ability to navigate Microsoft Office, manage multiple tabs, and use Webex + Patience, compassion, and a willingness to learn call center processes during training + Stable job history—tenure is a key factor in hiring decisions Preferred (Not Required): + Familiarity with benefits programs or open enrollment processes + Previous call center experience Training Schedule: + 3-week classroom + nesting training held fully onsite at the Salt Lake City location + Role transitions to fully remote starting Week 4 + Shift assignment (between 6am–6pm MST) will be provided during Week 2 of training and begins in Week 4 + Must be available to work one Saturday per month in October, November, and January —this will be paid as overtime Experience Level: Entry-Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
